Cabinet Approves ₹1,500 Crore Incentives to Boost UPI Adoption

The Indian government has approved a ₹1,500 crore incentive scheme to promote digital payments through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
The move aims to strengthen India’s cashless economy by increasing the usage of UPI-based transactions, especially in small businesses and rural areas.
Banks and fintech companies are expected to benefit from this push as they expand digital payment infrastructure.
The incentives will help reduce transaction costs and encourage more people to adopt digital payments.
